Lucifer and many of the angels rebelled against God. They thought they could live without God. Then they were cast into hell. There they will suffer forever. The devils hate God. They try to lead people away from Him. They put bad thoughts into people’s minds. They tempt them to sin. But God helps to save us from the devil.
Children, you told me much about the beautiful angels. You told me how good and holy God made them. Whom do the good angels love? How do the angels see? How much do the angels know ? What spirits do you know ? How fast can the angels travel? What do the angels do for us ? What do we call the angels that watch over us? Why do the angels love us so much? Where does. our guardian angel want to lead us? Why did God give us our guardian angels ?
What kind of angels were all the angels when God made them ? What did God want the angels to do? What would it prove when the angels obeyed God? Why do you always obey God? Why did some of the angels disobey God? Who was the leader of the bad angels? What did the bad angels think they could do? What made them think that they could get along without God? What do proud people think sometimes? Why do bad people stay away from church? What kind of people disobey God? Whom do people disobey when they commit sin? When will God forgive bad people ? What do they have to promise if they want God to forgive them?
Where would the bad angels be now if they had obeyed God? Whom did the bad angels love when they were good? What makes the bad angels miserable now? What kind of people are happy? What kind of people are miserable? What happened to the bad angels when they disobeyed God? What are the bad angels called now? What changed the angels into devils? How long will the devils have to stay in hell? What do the devils suffer in hell? Whom will they never see?
Where do bad people go when they die ? With whom will they be in hell? Whom do the devils hate? Why do the devils hate God? Why do the devils try to turn people away from God? Why do they try to keep people from loving God ? Why do the devils try to make people hate one another? Who wants all the people to love one another? Who tries to make people say bad things about others? Who tries to make people fight and quarrel? To what place does the devil try to lead people? What does the devil tempt people to do ? How does anybody know when the devil is talking to him ? Who is talking to any one when he has bad thoughts? What do good people do when the devil puts bad thoughts into their minds ? What do they try to think about then? Whom do they ask to help them ? What kind of thoughts does your guardian angel put into your mind? Who whispers into your mind every day to tell you to say your prayers? Who whispers into people’s minds and tells them not to say their prayers? Who whispers into your mind to tell you to obey your parents?
Who is always trying to get people to commit sin? Why does the devil want people to fall into sin? To what place is the devil trying to lead people? What makes the devil miserable? Where will the devil have to stay forever? Whose fault is it that the devil has to stay in hell? How could the devil have remained in heaven? What kind of people does the devil hate ? Why does the devil try to turn people against God ? Why does the devil hate God? What do you think the devil promises people? Why does the devil never keep his promises ? Why is the devil called the “father of lies”? Why does the devil try to get people to tell lies? Who wants us to tell the truth always? Who told Adam and Eve to disobey God?
Do you know what the devil told Adam and Eve? He told them that if they would eat the forbidden fruit, they would be as great as God. They believed him. When they ate the fruit, they fell into sin. They disobeyed God. The devil was glad, for he thought he would have all the people in hell. There they would be his servants. But our Lord took pity and came to free us from the sin of Adam and Eve.
Why do you think the devil tempted Adam and Eve ? Why did he want to lead them away from God? When do people become the devil’s servants? Whom do people obey when they commit sin? Whom do they disobey when they commit sin? How does God show that He still loves people who fall into sin? What is He willing to do for them? Who tells people to curse and swear? Who do you think was the first ever to curse and swear? Why did the devil curse and swear against God? Who taught people to take God’s holy name in vain?
What Commandment tells you always to honor God’s holy name? Why does your guardian angel want you to honor God’s name? Whom do you visit when you go to church? Why does the devil try to keep people from going to church ? Who is pleased when you are praying quietly in church? Who tries to keep people from going to Confession ? Who tries to make people ashamed to tell their sins? Why is your guardian angel glad when you go to Holy Communion? What does your guardian angel want you to do after Holy Communion?
When do you ask God to keep away temptations? Why do you say in the Our Father?”lead us not into temptation.” Who are the devil’s servants? When do people obey the devil? Who tries to make people proud? What made Adam and Eve fall into sin? Who made them proud ? Why do the devils hate one another ? Why do you love all the people in the world? How can you show that you love them? What can you do for bad people? How can you help all the people in the world? What can you do to show that you love the souls in purgatory ? What do you do to show that you love your guardian angel? How do you show that you love God? What does it show when you keep God’s Commandments?
Who tries to get people to break the Commandments? What does the devil try to get people to do against the Second Commandment? How does the devil try to get people to break the Third Commandment? How does the devil try to get people to break the Fourth Commandment ?
What does the devil try to make people do against the Fifth Commandment ? What does the devil tell them to do against the Sixth Commandment? What does he try to make them do against the Seventh Commandment? What does he tell them to do against the Eighth Commandment?
What does it show when people hate one another? What does it show when anybody curses or swears? What does it show when any-body steals? How often does the devil go around to tempt people ? Why do you watch all the time ? What do you ask God every day to keep you from? Why do you say in the Our Father?”deliver us from evil.”
Why do you pray every day to your guardian angel? Why do you love your guardian angel so much? Why do the devils hate us? Why do the devils try to make people bad ? What kind of people sometimes hate good people? Who tells bad people to laugh at others when they say their prayers? Why do some people say bad things about Catholics? Why does the devil want people to hate Catholics? Why did those bad people nail our Lord to the cross ? Why did they put the Apostles to death? How did they put St. Peter to death? They nailed him to a cross with his head down. You know he said he was not worthy to be nailed to the cross as our Lord had been. How did they put St. Paul to death? They cut off his head. St. Peter and St. Paul were put to death in Rome about thirty-five years after our Lord died. June 29th is the feast of St. Peter and St. Paul.
Now, if some one asks you how St. Peter died, what will you say? Where did St. Peter die? The grandest church in the world now stands on the spot where St. Peter was put to death. It is St. Peter’s Church. Just beside this church our Holy Father the Pope lives. How was St. Paul put to death? When did St. Paul die? Where did St. Paul die? When is the feast of St. Peter and St. Paul? Why are St. Peter and St. Paul called martyrs? Why were they willing to die for our holy Faith?
Who do you think told those pagans to put St. Peter and St. Paul to death? What were St. Peter and St. Paul teaching the people ? Why did the devil hate them so much? Who tries to get people to hate priests? Why does the devil do that ? Who were the first priests of the Catholic Church? Why are all the Apostles called martyrs?
How was St. Andrew put to death? He was nailed to a cross. When they were taking him to nail him to the cross, he said : “0 dear cross, you were made holy by the body of my Lord. I am happy to come to you.” St. Andrew hung on the cross three days before he died. All the time he was teaching the people to love God. Why do you think they put the Apostle St. Andrew to death? How did they put him to death? The devils were furious at the Apostles because they were taking the people away from them and teaching them to love God. Ever since that time, too, the devils have been trying to do harm to the Catholic Church. They try to make people hate priests, bishops, and Pope.
Do you know how the Apostle St. James was put to death? He was put to death with the sword in Jerusalem where he was bishop. They put him to death about eleven years after our Lord died. Why were the devils furious against the Apostles? Why do the devils try to make people hate priests, bishops, and Popes? When did the Apostle St. Andrew die? How did they put him to death? When did St. James die? Where was St. James bishop ?
Do you know what they did with the Apostle St. John ? They put him into a tank of boiling oil, but God saved him. He came out unharmed and lived to be nearly a hundred years old. St. John wrote one of the Gospels in the Bible, and for that reason he is called an evangelist. He also wrote three Epistles in the Bible. They are a part of the New Testament. God told him every-thing that he wrote in the Gospel and in the Epistles. Now, what could you tell anybody about St. John? Who saved him from death? Why is he called an evangelist? How many Epistles did St. John write? How did St. John know what to write?
Why are all the Apostles called martyrs? For what did they die? Why did the devils hate them? What kind of people does the devil hate ? Why does the devil hate good people?
